Matthew presents the narrative of the life of Jesus Christ, the Messiah: the Son of David, the King of Israel. Christ was born in the city of the king, and was worshiped as a king. He came to preach the kingdom of heaven (a very unusual kind of kingdom!). And…he was crucified for the “crime” of being the King of the Jews. We explore all that this most beloved of the evangelists seeks to emphasize about our Jesus Christ, our Savior, Lord, and…King.
